I wanna do this. It’s like Christmas cards, but not demanding that I do it in December.
Anyway, I need addresses, people.
If you send me a Real address, I will send you a Real Letter. On fancy cardstuff. I will send lady with the Real Mail plan a Real Letter as well, since she has a Real Address on her post.
So, if you’d like a letter, probably email me at lauowolf@gmail.com – Since probably people don’t want to put their Real Life info online here.
And if other people wanted to do this, they could copypaste this as well, and we could have orgies of pms and Real Mail.

Mary is a wonderful, talented, enthusiastic person. She’s doing all this along with her writing and puppeteering and blogging and running Google Hangouts and extensive travel. Just reading her schedule makes me tired.
Postcards count too, things typed on computers also count, as do packages — just put something in the mail every day.
I am writing Mary first, and then replying to some Christmas cards I got.
Mary did this back in September and it was so exciting when I got a lovely card back from her. I’d forgotten what it was like to look forward to the mailbox.

I’m in! Someone should compile a list of everyone who wants to participate and sent it round to everyone. That way we’d all get lots of mail! I’ll send you an email with my addy shortly. And I’m copying this to my blog, too!

This is a lovely idea, but I am afraid I can’t participate during the school term. I would need to go to a post office every day to post overseas and it is just not possible on a school day for me. We don’t have Saturday post in Australia (just Mon-Fri) so there would be less mail from Australia if in.

FD – The comments on the original poster’s site indicate that the intention of mailing a month’s worth of correspondence is the key point, not hitting it every day of the month. Some people on military bases or in remote areas are saying they’ll hit the post once a week and mail out that week’s letters. Just a possible alternative if you were worried about hitting the post office every day. 🙂

Hey, if you sent me your snail mail address, perhaps people (like me) would send you something even if you can’t be sending to us.
I would first send you a list of everyone involved, and you can decide who you want to receive your information and who not.

I love this idea. The only thing I’m worried about before committing is that I’ll be in Trinidad for the first full week of February (for work, not pleasure, unfortunately). I definitely won’t be mailing out letters from there, so I’ll start off over a week behind! I know the original poster of this concept said in the comments over there that it was find to play catchup, but I’m wondering if I’d just start to get overwhelmed. On the other hand, there’s nothing that says I can’t start my month a week late, and finish a week late. So yes, I’m in!

Send postcards! Even if you’re working, you can find postcards and scrawl on them “Wish I was here instead of at work”. You could mail them all in one batch either there or when you get home — maybe write them on the plane?

I’m in! I just got a piece of snail mail from Homebody when I picked up a week’s worth of mail at the end of my business trip and it was the only fun thing in the pile. I want to put a little fun in someone’s mailbox, too!

I do actually still send real mail, especially cards and such. I enjoy buying cards and stationary type things in charity shops for this purpose. It is just nice to send real mail. I think you have my email, right? If not, Jaypo has it.

You aren’t the only one with concerns, and it makes sense not to.
Here’s my theory.
Send your address to my email.
I will send out an email to everyone with a list of names only(usernames).
People then tell me who I can send their name to.
I send out approved lists to people.

Ooh – and can you let people know what the Vox name is as well? When I get Vox peeps who want to friend me in Google+ or Facebook using their real names, I’m always trying to guess who these people are and how I know them! 🙂

I posted about this on my blog today, here, to try to get some other visibility. I pointed any ex-Voxers to this post so they could throw their name (and address) into the hat if they wanted to participate, too.
BTW, Trinidad is lovely this time of year, besides the 90 degree weather and 65% humidity. At least the mosquitoes aren’t out in force!

Awwww….this is lovely!!! But I don’t put anything on my computer/online (even within emails) if I can avoid it. No banking, no bill paying, no shopping. No anything. Freaks me out just thinking about it.
